Aneto’s tourn

One of the most spectacular routes in the Pyrenees. We start from the bottom of the Benasque valley, from the Plan de Están, in the LLanos del Hospital (Benasque). We will begin by carrying the bike on a trail towards the Portillón de Benasque and the port of la Picada. As we gain altitude, the trail will allow us to pedal some sections and will give us the best views of the Maladeta massif and Aneto. After about 40 minutes of carrying, we will take the right turn towards the Puerto de la Picada. From here we will begin a short initial descent to an obvious point where we will turn left to do a small carry over the paso de la Escaleta, which will leave us at the beginning of the first long descent to the Hospice de France. At the Hospice, we can take the opportunity to refuel, have something to eat, and rest. We will continue down a few meters on the road to turn right onto an uphill track that will take us to some meadows, where we will turn left on a path that will eventually disappear upon reaching some corrals. From here we will pedal along trails and meadows until we gain the pass that will return us to the Spanish side. We will begin to descend along mountain trails through meadows until we reach the forest where an apotheotic final awaits us on a flowy descent. We will finish on a small road that we will let ourselves fall down until we reach Es Bordes in the Valle de Arán. From here we can reach Vielha alternating road and trails along the river. To reach the start of stage two we recommend taking a transport to the starting point at the Ibón de Llauset.
