One of the most common routes for local cyclists. This route will allow us to access the heart of the Posets-Maladeta Natural Park and ascend to the vicinity of the Aramón Cerler ski resort. Two of the most traditional climbs in the Benasque Valley, which year after year attracts cyclists from all over. We will start our route from the town of Sesué, taking the A-139 road north. We must follow the course of this road without taking any detours until we reach the Nordic ski resort of Llanos del Hospital, in the heart of the Natural Park.

The first few kilometers between the town of Sesué and Benasque will allow us to warm up for the first climb of the day, the Llanos del Hospital. A 12km climb with a constant average gradient of 6.5%. It is a long climb without large ramps but its gradient is constant, with only a break in the form of a flat section at the height of the Senarta reservoir. The condition of the asphalt is acceptable, but the cold and snow mean that the surface is not in optimal conditions. In addition, we must be very careful of possible stones on the asphalt due to small landslides. After crowning and descending this first climb, we will reach a roundabout with signs to the town of Cerler that will mark the beginning of the second climb of the day.

The Cerler climb is very demanding, with an average gradient of 8.5% over its 4.5km distance and ramps of more than 10%. We will reach the beautiful town of Cerler, where the Aramón Cerler ski resort has its lowest access point. From here we must continue the road and make an ascent of 7km and 400+ m of elevation gain will allow us to complete the ascent to the ski resort parking lot located at an altitude of 1900m. Ramps of 9-10% follow each other in the first three kilometers of this part of the climb to later, after a kilometer of descent, give way to the last three km where the gradient softens, remaining at an average of 6%. The road does not continue once we reach the ski resort parking lot, so we will turn around and enjoy the long descent. We will descend the climb and finally turn left (south direction – Sesué) at the roundabout that marks the beginning of this climb. At this point, we only have to enjoy the last kilometers of the route on a pleasant descent to the town of Sesué.
