This physically demanding route will leave no cyclist’s legs untouched. Short but intense, the “Leg Breaker” will introduce you to some of the least-known roads in the Benasque Valley.

We will start from the town of Sahún, descending along the A-139 to the turn-off for Castejón de Sos. Once we turn left and cross Castejón de Sos, we will face the climb towards the town of Bisaurri. These first climbing ramps are around 4-5% and reach a gradient of 8-9% in the last meters before reaching Bisaurri. We must take the turn-off to our right with indications towards San Martín de Veri and Gabás. The road continues to climb steeply until reaching the crossroads that will take us to these two towns. At this point, we have two options: to face the climb to San Martín de Veri first or the one to Gabás. The two and a half kilometer climb to San Martín de Veri is along a road in very good condition, and its hairpin bends traverse a beautiful pine forest. The climb doesn’t have large ramps but does have a constant degree of demand.

The climb to Gabás is slightly longer. It starts with a gentle descent from the crossroads and quickly changes to a demanding but short climb that will take us to a fantastic spot with beautiful views of the Benasque Valley. Whichever option you choose, in both cases, you will have to return along the same ascent road to the crossroads to face the second of these two proposed climbs.

At the end, we will descend to the town of Castejón de Sos along the same road we came (A-139), this time towards Sahún. At the entrance to the town of Villanova, we will see a sign on our right that marks the starting point of our last climb to the town of Sos. This climb will surprise many. Its 2km ascent hides great “gifts” in the form of demanding ramps that at times exceed 14% inclination.

After reaching the town of Sos, we only have to return to the starting point, finishing the day with a strong climb from the A-139 to the town of Sahún.
